Sizzler Closure Leaves People Hungry For More

Today is your last chance to visit Sizzler in Rockhampton!

The iconic buffet restaurant will serve its last cheese toastie today. Just when you thought 2020 couldn’t get any worse. First there was Coronavirus, and now this!

Is this the end of times for buffet restaurants? First Smorgy’s went down, the iconic 90s restaurant that served the highest quality hospital food like jelly and mashed potatoes. Maybe people are just too caught up in eating “healthy” when sometimes all you need is five plates of deep-fried calamari rings.

In 2018, Sizzler’s revenue was down $50.8 million. It’s the only time a buffet  has been associated with a trimming down.

But don’t worry, there are still some locations left in Queensland, New South Wales, and Western Australia. Just another reason to hire a campervan and hit the road!

We can probably all agree there’s only one way to save the last remaining Sizzlers- an exciting new Tourism Ad where Kylie Minogue downs six bowls of chicken nuggets.

A spokesperson for Collins Food Limited released a statement saying, “We want to thank our employees for their dedication, and our guests for their loyalty, over the last 31 years.”

Come on, Sizzler! Pull through for us, so we can continue to gift future generations with your magical potato skins to help us through these very bleak times.
