The Queen Goes Unrecognised By Tourists

A group of American tourists met the Queen and didn’t even know it.

Richard Griffin is the Queen’s protection officer and has worked with the royal family for more than 30 years. In a special interview with The Times, he revealed how the Queen loves going under the radar in public.

Mr Griffin recounted the time that a group of American tourists were strolling through the Queen’s Scottish estate when they crossed paths with Her Majesty.

Now anyone in this situation would either freak out, or ask the Queen for the jewels she doesn’t wear anymore. However, the tourists didn’t even recognise her.

The Queen spying on incoming tourists…

Apparently, they didn’t question the forty security guards surrounding her or the massive crown on her head.

They proceeded to ask her if she lived in the area. Instead of saying, “I am the ruler of where you stand!” she just told them she had a house nearby.

Still not catching on, the tourists asked her if she had ever met the Queen. She decided to have a bit of fun and said, “No, but this policeman has,” gesturing to Mr. Griffin. Who knew the Queen could have fun!

At the time, the Queen was wearing tweeds and a headscarf so was not in her iconic bright colours, which helped her totally play them.

That’s right, the Queen pranked them!

Still no word if the American tourists mistook Prince Phillip for the garden scarecrow.
