There’s An App To Dob In Those Bloody Noisy Neighbours
There’s a new app called The Noise App to complain about loud neighbours
Ever wanted to dob in your noisy neighbour? Well, now there’s an app that lets you do just that! It’s called The Noise App. Although an app based on someone snapping when their neighbour chats too loud should probably be called Snapchat.
Once you record your neighbours causing a raucous, you can then send the sound file directly to your council’s database. But just make sure you don’t mix it up with your sound file of you singing a demo version of Boogie Wonderland. I’ve been there too many times to count!
The app is free for residents to download and has so far been registered by 157 users, and has had 414 recordings made, which is being dubbed a huge success. Although it’s probably not being dubbed a huge success for all those noisy neighbours who want to blast Ginuwine’s ‘Pony’ during some very intense throes of passion.
According to the Herald Sun, Peter Wright from Casey’s Environmental Health team said, “The community prefers apps now rather than having to speak with someone…” So of course, someone who hates noise wants to communicate with as little sound as possible.
One resident said previous complaints with noisy neighbours ironically went unheard, until she finally submitted a noise complaint using the app.
It’s probably only a matter of time until they introduce a counter app called Nosey Neighbours, for anyone who tries recording your excessive noise. Or maybe even Tinder for quiet neighbours wanting to meet other like-minded quiet neighbours. It could be called Shhhinder. You’re welcome!
