NZ PM Jacinda Ardern Gives Away Metallica Tickets To Young Superfan
A NZ boy got free Metallica tickets after he created a successful petition to get them to perform in Auckland.
William Bush, 12, started a petition on change.org to help bring Metallica to New Zealand. He wrote “The bogans and metalheads of our country have had an 8-year withdrawal and can’t wait for the next time they’ll get to see Metallica live in NZ!”
Almost 7000 signatures later, the pioneering metal band announced a show in Auckland as part of their world tour in October.

On New Zealand’s One News, William was interviewed about the petition and his love of Metallica. He was shocked by the announcement, but super excited, saying, “It’s going to be awesome with Slipknot opening.”
He even performed a guitar solo on the news program, shortly before he was surprised by… Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern!
Okay, so it wasn’t Metallica, but to be fair, Jacinda is definitely the second coolest person ever.
According to Jacinda, she had it on good authority that William’s petition made a “real difference to Metallica and the promoters.”
So she pulled an Oprah and surprised him with two tickets to Metallica's NZ date.
We’re not entirely sure where Jacinda got her tickets from. Let’s just hope it wasn’t from Viagogo and his seats aren’t double-booked.
Come on Australia, we’ve got to get onto this! With ScoMo’s connections, he could probably give away free tickets to an Elvis impersonator at a local rotary club. Sure it’s not Metallica, but hey, we’ve got to start somewhere.
