Pearl Headbands Won The Fashion Stakes At Derby Day

They say diamonds are a girl's best friend, but it was all about pearls for the AAMI Victoria Derby Day.

The first race day of the Melbourne Cup Carnival gives fashionistas the chance to put together crisp black and white looks paired with a bold headpiece.

While broad-brimmed hats and dainty fascinators are the traditional go-tos (and still popular favourites) at the Carnival, headbands have become more popular in recent years.

And it seems that 2019 is the year of the pearl headband, with multiple celebs and punters placing a lustrous, pearly crown on top of slick, pinned back locks.
