Melbourne Driver Fined For Pimping His Ride With Recliner Chairs

A Melbourne driver has fined for using two recliner chairs in his van.

The van was stopped by Victoria Police officers in Point Cook, in the city’s south, on Sunday following a tip-off.

Police allegedly found a child sitting on one of the leather chairs inside the van.

Eyewatch - Wyndham Police Service Area posted a photo of the chairs to Facebook.

The post claimed that they were held in place with an alloy block.

Police said the driver, 52-year-old Point Cook man, had been fined $1500 and three demerit points.

He was issued with three infringement notices for an unregistered vehicle, an unrestrained passenger and a breaching the standards of registration, a police spokesman said.
