Rebecca Judd Opens First 'High Quality' BP David Jones In Melbourne
The humble servo has had a fancy makeover.
David Jones and BP have opened their first collaboration store in leafy Bayside, on the high-traffic corner of North Rd and Nepean Highway.
Rebecca Judd - herself a resident of neighbouring suburb Brighton - was there to cut the ribbon on Wednesday morning.
Promising to deliver high-quality products and fuel, the new store stocks more than 400 products including pre-prepared meals and groceries.
Five other stores are planned for opening in Melbourne over the next five months in Ringwood, Glen Waverley, Brighton, Clarendon and Greensborough.
And Sydney also has five sites earmarked to open in 2020, in Rozelle, Artarmon, Kingsford, Ashfield and Mosman.
BP Australia Vice President of Sales Marketing Brooke Miller said the new store offered customers a glimpse into the future of shopping.
“This is another important step in BP’s strategy to transform convenience retailing in Australia and deliver market-leading fuels, technology, rewards and differentiated convenience offers to Australian consumers," she said.
David Jones Food Managing Director Pieter de Wet said it was an exciting new chapter for the brand.
"As consumer behaviour changes and demand for fresh and accessible food-for-now and food-for-later options continues to increase, we’re excited to present a new concept to Australian consumers."
The 'market-leading' food and convenience store will be open 24 hours 7 days a week.
