Top Dog Enjoys Fine Dining After Westminster Win, Unclear If She Took Home A Doggy Bag
A poodle who caused a stir on social media for its ridiculous hair cut enjoyed a lavish lunch on Wednesday after taking out top prize at the Westminster Dog Show.
Siba strutted off with Best in Show before being treated to a fine dining experience at renowned Manhattan restaurant Sardi's.
Adorned with black puffs and pompoms, the three-year-old pooch was joined by her handler just a day after claiming the coveted title.
Deeming the win "incredible", Siba's trainer Chrystal Murray-Clas said it had "not sunk in".
"She knows she's special. So when she goes in the ring, she just has that little extra sparkle and really shows it," Murray-Clas said.
The Westminster winner receives no prize money in a sport where owners can spend hundreds of thousands of dollars preparing and pampering their pooches.
Instead, the reward is a silver bowl, lucrative breeding rights and a lifetime (or at least a year) of bragging in doggy world.
Although Siba's win was marred by controversy, with many punters claiming a Golden Retriever named Daniel should have been crowned the winner.
Many accused the judges of being obsessed with poodles.
