Mother And Son Killed In Christmas Day Shooting As Husband Is Charged With Murder
A 53-year-old man has been charged with six counts of first-degree murder after allegedly shooting his wife, son and neighbour dead on Christmas Day.
Clifford Brewer, 53, told police he had been shopping on Christmas Eve and got into an argument with his wife Shirley after getting home, HOI ABC reported.
Livingston County State’s Attorney Randy Yedinak told Central Illinois Proud she then texted their neighbour, Norman Walker, to come over and the pair 'drank heavily' and listened to loud music.
During this time, Brewer claimed to police he went to bed and awoke to find the trio dead.
A statement from the Livingston County Sheriff said their office was called to the home just after 2 am on Christmas morning.
When police arrived, Shirley and Norman were found together with gunshot wounds to their heads, and Christian was found in his bedroom, also with a gunshot wound to the head.
The coroner has determined none of the wounds were self-inflicted.
Brewer appeared at court on Friday, where his bond was set at $5million.
He will next appear on January 23.
