Clara McGregor Reveals Rape, Abortion, Addiction And Depression In Emotional Post
Clara McGregor has revealed shocking details about her recent battle with anxiety and depression and her recovery from an abusive relationship in a raw and honest Instagram post.
Clara McGregor revealed her struggle to overcome her "crippling anxiety" and reminded her followers that there's no shame in admitting you need help.
"I've been so ashamed of some of my mental health issues that I haven't even wanted to tell friends," McGregor said in the post.
"My anxiety has stopped me from living the life I wanted to lead. It was a cage I was stuck in and still struggle to get out of."
McGregor said she has regularly seen therapists since she was a child and has been prescribed anti-depressants which have also helped her.
Her battle with mental illness led to her reliance on some addictive medications including Xanax. She admitted she'd been heavily reliant on the medication but after attending rehab, she confirmed she's been clean for 110 days.
She also revealed some harrowing details from an abusive past relationship. She claimed a man, who she did not name, physically and sexually abused her.

McGregor also said she had an abortion in the last 12 months.
She urged her followers to "help yourself so you can help others too" and reiterated that there is help available for those who seek it.
The post attracted thousands of likes and hundreds of comments of support. Commenters thanked McGregor for her honesty and said her sharing her story was nothing short of inspiring.
