There’s Something About Miriam And Big Brother Star Miriam Rivera Has Died
Transgender model and reality star Miriam Rivera had reportedly died age 38.
Rivera was best known for her appearances on reality shows 'There's Something About Miriam' and 'Big Brother'.
'There's Something About Miriam' aired on the 10 Network in 2004 and featured six men who competed for the heart of the then 21-year-old. It wasn't until the end of the series -- and moments after the winner was announced --that Miriam told the men she was transgender.
The winner was then put in the spot and asked if he would go on a trip with Miriam and claim the $18,000 prize money or leave Miriam altogether.
Rivera also made a guest appearance on the fourth season on the fourth season on Australia's Big Brother.
Tributes for the star flooded social media after news broke of her death.
"You made a huge difference for me and so many other people around this planet, that you made significantly more colourful. Your life was too short, but you sure made it remarkable," Miriam's friend Jeanett wrote on Facebook.
Miriam was married to Daniel Cuervo and did not have any children.
While it's yet to be confirmed, the Mail Online reports that she took her own life in Mexico in February.
