Inside The Supermarket: Chaos As Police Hunted The Suspected Gunman

Vision of police hunting a gunman who is suspected of killing at least 20 people in a Texas supermarket has emerged online.

The video, which appears to have been uploaded to Snapchat, shows heavily armed police running through the El Paso shopping centre looking for the alleged shooter.

Photos, also posted online, show shoppers hiding under the returns and exchanges counter at the Walmart as the shooting was underway.

Texas police told media on Saturday that there were about 3,000 people inside when the shooting started.

Texas police believe at least 20 people were killed in the shooting that occurred on Saturday afternoon local time. Dozens more are injured. A four-month-old child, as well as a two-year-old and a nine-year-old, are among those receiving medical attention.

Police have arrested a 21-year-old male who they have identified as Patrick Crusius. An image of him appearing to enter the shopping centre was captured on CCTV.

Sergeant Robert Gomez, a police spokesman, said the suspect was taken into custody "without incident" and there was no longer danger to the public.

The motive for the alleged attack is unknown.

At this stage, there is no information regarding the victims' identities.
