Pregnant Wife Of Sri Lanka Terrorist Detonates Suicide Vest

The pregnant wife of one of the Sri Lanka terrorists detonated the vest after police entered her home during a raid, killing police and her own children.

The woman was the wife of one of the Ibrahim brothers, two of the terrorists at the centre of the terrorist plot, who have been revealed to be members of a wealthy and well-respected family.

Inshaf, 33 and Ilham, 31, lived in an affluent house on Mahawela Gardens and have been noted as key players in the Easter Sunday bombings that have so far killed 359 people.

There have been conflicting reports about the police raid on the Ibrahim house but 10 Daily understands that Inshaf's wife detonated the bomb, killing herself, her two children and three police officers.

The woman is reported to have been the daughter of a wealthy jewellery manufacturer.

Police have arrested the brothers' father, Mohamed Ibhrahim, who is a wealthy spice trader and a well-respected member of Colombo's business community for questioning about the plans for the attacks.

A neighbour of the family has told Reuters that she was shocked about the attacks and said that they "seemed like good people".

The neighbour said that Mohamed Ibrahim is "famous in the area for helping the poor with food and money. It's unthinkable his children could have done that".
