Devastating Photos From Inside The Sri Lankan Churches Destroyed By Explosions

Church windows have been left shattered, ceilings have caved in and countless religious items destroyed as Sri Lankans begin the heart-breaking clean up following a series of explosions on Easter Sunday.

Images from inside the destroyed churches where hundreds of people congregating for mass were massacred by simultaneous explosions, show bodies covered by sheets on the ground and blood spattered on religious statues and on pews.

In three popular tourist hotels which were also targeted, entire glass windows of buildings can be seen shattered.

More than 200 people were killed when eight explosions ripped through Colombo and surrounding areas in targeted attacks on Easter Sunday.

Seven people were arrested over the attacks on Sunday however no group had immediately claimed responsibility.
