Sleep-Deprived Woman Shoots Boyfriend For Snoring Too Loudly
A 47-year-old woman is facing a lengthy stint behind bars after she snapped, allegedly shooting her boyfriend in the stomach.
Police were called to a home in Cocoa Florida on Wednesday after reports of a shooting.
The victim was taken to the hospital with a bullet in his stomach, while his partner, Lorie Morin, was arrested and questioned by police.
Officers were originally told the shooting was all just an accident, but they later learned of a motive behind the incident -- the man was a snorer. A loud snorer, according to Morin.
Instead of kicking him, the woman snapped, allegedly taking out a shotgun and pulling the trigger.
Neighbours -- not surprisingly -- were shocked by the 47-year-olds reaction.
"I've talked to her a couple of times and she's always been really nice, and so the news is kind of shocking on it, honestly," Samantha Bobier told ABC news.
"To hear that it was over him snoring is kind of shocking. It's kind of crazy."
"It's so stupid, so bizarre that I can't imagine that kind of behaviour," another neighbour, Robert Mason said.
It appears snoring was a regular issue for the couple, court documents reveal the boyfriend had turned up to Morin's home with nasal strips in an effort to stifle the snuff.
Police say both had been drinking before the incident.
While the boyfriend is in a stable condition in hospital, Morin is locked up in prison awaiting a court appearance for her attempted murder and aggravated battery.
