Students Sing Message Of Love To Teacher Before He Marries Husband
A teacher from Massachusetts in the US received a very special surprise from his students just before his wedding.
Dozens of Christopher Landis' chorus students dropped into his wedding rehearsal in early January to sing 'All You Need Is Love' by The Beatles.
The video, which was posted to Facebook showed Landis wiping away tears as the student performed for him and his now husband Joe Michienzie.
Landis has been the choir director at Hingham Middle School for six years, and despite keeping his engagement quiet -- concerned how his students may react -- the news got out last year.
Joy Foraste and Margit Foley, both mothers of students at the school, organized the surprise.
“At the end of the summer, Margit and I heard he was getting married," Foraste told the New York Times.
"He’s the best teacher, and he’s got this great energy, and he makes every school function fun. We thought, wouldn’t it be awesome to do something for his wedding?”
Evidently, many people thought it was awesome, with the video since shared thousands of times across social media.
While the mothers hoped to get at least 15 students involved, between 50 and 70 committed to performing for their teacher and his fiance.
Landis and Michienzie immediately become emotional upon seeing the children file into the room and shed a few tears throughout their beautiful rendition.
