The World's First 'Ground-Scraper' Hotel Officially Opens
Pack your bags because the worlds newest and coolest hotel has JUST opened!
If you're looking for a new travel destination to splash some cash, Shanghai has got to be at the very top of the list.
The city has just opened the world's very first "ground-scraper" hotel and it looks incredible.
The 18-storey Intercontinental Shanghai Wonderland (A.K.A Shimao Quarry Hotel) is 30 kilometres from Shanghai's Hongqiao airport in the Sheshan Mountain Range.
The hotel plunges 88 metres into an old, abandoned quarry and includes two floors of underwater suites looking into a huge aquarium.
The above-ground rooms are pretty specky as well, they boast panoramic views of an artifical waterfall.
The swanky 5-star resort took 12 years and roughly 5,000 architects, engineers, designers and construction workers to build.
But you'll have to scrape together every cent you've got.
Rooms start from $668 a night but the super fancy ones will set you back at least $14,000.
So start saving those pennies because this is a bucket-list trip and it's bound to book out fast!
