Splashdown: Air Niugini 737 Overshoots And Crashes Into Water
An Air Niugini aircraft has crashed into the ocean after overshooting a runway.
A video posted to Facebook shows the plane's passengers in rescue boats beside the submerged aircraft, in water off the Federate States of Mirconesia (FSM).
No serious injuries have been reported.
Air Nuigini flight 73 was set to fly from Weno Island in Chuuk state to the Papua New Guinea Capital Port Moresby on Friday morning.
A United Airlines flight from Guam was scheduled to land at the same airport, but has been diverted to Pohnpei, another Island in the FSM.
