Airline Doesn't Give A Flying F About Spelling Its Own Name Right

It was a very expensive mistake.

Cathay Pacific has seen the funny side of a very expensive mistake, after it spelt the name of the company wrong on its own plane.

'CATHAY PACIIC' was painted on the plane -- the letter 'F' missing, and noticed by eagle-eyed viewers.

After being notified, the Hong Kong-based airline took to social media to share its mistake.

"Oops this special livery won’t last long! She’s going back to the shop!" it said.

An engineer who works for Haeco, a sister company of the airline, was baffled as to how such an expensive mistake could be made said The South China Morning Post.

“The spacing is too on-point for a mishap. We have stencils. Should be a blank gap in between letters if it was a real mistake I think,” the engineer said.

The airline maintains it was a genuine error, and the aircraft has been sent back to have the correct name painted on.
