Unmissable Adam Goodes Doco 'The Final Quarter' To Air Next Month

The highly anticipated documentary about the tumultuous end of Adam Goodes' AFL career will be hitting your television screens in the coming weeks.

In 2015, Australia was divided over the treatment of the Indigenous Sydney Swans star, who left the game after long-running abuse from fans.

Goodes publicly called out racism, was named Australian of the Year, was accused of staging for free kicks, and performed an on-field war dance celebration.

The cheers became boos as football crowds turned on him.

On July 18, 10 and WIN Network will bring the confronting story of his last three years in the game to television audiences.

Using only archival footage aired at the time, the film holds a mirror to Australia and is an opportunity to reconsider what happened on and off the football field during this difficult time in sport.

Goodes himself played no part in the making of the film, but having watched it, gave it his full support.

"As confronting as I have found the film, I look forward to the conversation it will help generate," Goodes said.
