'Rest Easy My Darling': AFL Star's Wife Tragically Passes Away
Former Melbourne Demons captain Brad Green has shared a heart-breaking tribute following the sudden death of his wife, Anna.
The mother of two, and popular lifestyle blogger, died on Monday, the Green family confirmed in a statement to media.
“Anna suffered a cardiac arrest last week and passed away peacefully at lunch time yesterday surrounded by her immediate family," the statement read.
Brad Green, who captained the Demons in 2011, paid tribute to his wife on social media.
“Goodbyes are not forever, are not the end. It simply means, I’ll miss you until we meet again," he wrote on Instagram.
"Rest easy my darling."
Family, friends and the AFL community have been rocked by news of Anna's death, with many sharing tributes of their own.
"Sweet dreams my beautiful girl. I love you," friend Kate Arnott wrote on Instagram.
Jerrie Jones, wife of Melbourne co-captain Nathan Jones, said she was "terribly heartbroken".
"Rest easy beautiful Anna. It was such a joy to be your friend," she wrote.
"You were the most beautiful, kind-hearted, genuine soul, full of love and care. I’m grateful our lives crossed paths, for you have touched my heart forever.
Anna leaves behind two sons, aged seven and nine.
