Former WWE Superstar Ashley Massaro Dies Aged 39
Ashley Massaro has died at the young age of 39.
Massaro was taken to hospital from her home in New York's Suffolk Country where she died on Thursday morning local time, TMZ reports.
In a statement, World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) said it was "saddened" to learn of the former star's death.
"She performed in WWE from 2005-2008 and was beloved by her fellow Superstars and fans around the world," it said.
"WWE offers its condolences to Ashley’s family and friends."
Massaro was known for winning the 'WWE Diva Search' in 2005, which included a one-year, $250,000 contract. She went on to become a valet -- a female who "seconds" a male wrestler to a match -- for WWE Tag Team Champions Paul London and Brian Kendrick.

The tragic news has rocked the WWE community, with many fans and fellow wrestlers sharing tributes on social media.
