England Cricketer Cruelly Sledges Steve Smith's Awkward Dance Moves
This was Steve Smith as you've never seen him -- a touch of Gangnam Style with a whole lot of no style at all.
Why did this happen?
We'd be lying if we said we knew for sure.
What we can confirm is that Smith and two teammates performed a spectacularly ungainly dance routine in the delightful (*cough*) pink outfits of their Indian Premier League team the Rajasthan Royals.
There's a green screen in the background, which suggests it was some sort or marketing video, to be set to a backdrop of whatever you put behind three cricketers dancing with perfect awkwardness.
We can also confirm that England bowler Stuart Broad had a major giggle at the expense of Smith and his two teammates -- comparing them to the infamously cringeworthy moves of David Brent from UK TV show The Office.
Yep, hard to argue. Good sledge, mate. We still don't forgive you for not walking that day in the 2013 Ashes, but you've done well on this rare occasion.
An interesting aspect of this story is that this video was posted by Wisden -- which in cricket days of old was a much-loved, mild-mannered almanac which sat on your shelf and gave you hours of enjoyment as you thumbed its dog-eared pages memorising the batting averages of obscure county cricketers.
Now Wisden posts videos of cricketers dancing. Welcome to 2019. We're not sure if we love it or hate it.
