OK Australia, This Should Be Your Cricket World Cup Squad

Australia beat Pakistan overnight to make it a 5-0 series clean sweep.

Our fellas have also now won eight matches straight, and won two series in a row.

For that they can largely thank Usman Khawaja, who made 98, and Glenn Maxwell, whose whirlwind 70 off 33 propelled the Aussies to 7/327. The bowlers did their part too.

This has been quite the turnaround for a team that went two years without winning a series before the breakthrough in India last month.

And with no more international fixtures for the Aussies until the World Cup warm-up matches in England in late May, attention now turns to the make-up of our Cup squad.

Australia's squad won't be announced until April 9, but let's give it our best shot nice and early.

Firstly, this is the lot that went to Pakistan:

Aaron Finch (c), Alex Carey (vc, wk), Pat Cummins (vc), Jason Behrendorff, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Peter Handscomb, Usman Khawaja, Nathan Lyon, Shaun Marsh, Glenn Maxwell, Jhye Richardson, Kane Richardson, Marcus Stoinis, Ashton Turner, Adam Zampa.

OK, and now here's who we'd pick in the 15-man squad for England (remembering that Steve Smith, Cameron Bancroft and Dave Warner are all eligible to play now):

Aaron Finch, Alex Carey, Usman Khawaja, Steve Smith, David Warner, Glenn Maxwell, Shaun Marsh, Marcus Stoinis, Pat Cummins, Nathan Lyon, Jhye Richardson, Kane Richardson, Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, Adam Zampa.

For the record, the four men we've dropped were bowlers Nathan Coulter-Nile and Jason Behrendorff and batters Ashton Turner and Peter Handscomb.

That's to accommodate the return of bowlers Josh Hazlewood and Mitch Starc and batters Smith and Warner.

The guys we've left out did nothing wrong, but you can't squeeze everyone in. As Aussie coach Justin Langer said overnight, some guys will be "brutally unlucky".

The World Cup starts on May 30 and runs until the final on July 6. We encourage you to get on 10 Sport's Facebook page and tell us your squad.
