WATCH: Winx Wins George Ryder Stakes, For Her 32nd Victory In A Row

She's done it again. The marvellous mare has just one race to go now.

It was a classic Winx win.

She has won the George Ryder Stakes at Sydney's Rosehill Racecourse.

It's her 32nd win in a row in a streak which started all the way back in May 2015, and her 24th win at racing's elite Group 1 level.

Winx  also becomes the first horse to win three Group 1 races on four separate occasions -- the others being the Chipping Norton Stakes and the Cox Plate at Moonee Valley in Melbourne.

She settled second last in the eight-horse field, but seasoned Winx watchers had no cause for concern.

She was wide throughout the 1500m trip, never closer to the fence than three horses deep, yet that was no reason to sweat either.

And in the straight, whoosh! She unleashed and won easily by three lengths.

“I rode her like it was track work,” jockey Hugh Bowman said, also noting that he deliberately kept her wide throughout the race because the turf near the fence was chopped-up after a week of heavy rain in Sydney.

Trainer Chris Waller also made note of Bowman’s wider-than-usual trip.

“Hughie popped up four wide [on the home turn] with a bit of arrogance as he’s entitled to do. It’s the longest way home and it was a good fight, but in the last 200 metres she just powered away.”

Waller said the Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth was well aware of Winx and indeed had asked why the mare isn’t coming to Royal Ascot.

Speculation will no doubt increase in coming days as to whether Her Majesty makes a snap visit to Winx’s last run at Randwick on April 13 -- in the Queen Elizabeth Stakes.
