Crazy Hole-In-One On World's Toughest Hole Because Golf Isn't Always Boring

Wait, was that basketball or golf?

Bit of both really, as world number 87 Ryan Moore hit a slam-dunk hole-in-one on the 17th hole at TPC Sawgrass in Florida in round one of The Players Championship.

That's right, Moore, 36, thwonked his Titleist straight into the cup at the famous "island green" hole, without even slightly disturbing the greenkeeper's lovingly tended lawn.

Moore is one of those golfers with a bit of a dad bod who looks like a suburban accountant. But you didn't need so much as an abacus to count the number of strokes he took here.

You just needed one finger. (Don't hold it like that, though. That's rude.)

Yes, whichever angle you watched it from, Moore's shot really was ace. That's a golf pun, by the way. Don't worry if you don't get it. It means your life is probably going just fine.

Moore finished the day five-under par, two off the lead. Aussies Jason Day and Adam Scott -- both of whom have won this prestigious tournament before -- are at two-under and well in contention, alongside Tiger Woods.
