Former Hawthorn and Western Bulldogs AFL player Brian Lake has been arrested following an incident in a Japanese bar.
Lake was celebrating a win in the Asian AFL with his team when the incident occurred. Lake posted a picture of himself on Instagram before he was arrested showing him holding the trophy after the victory.
Lake's manager confirmed he was detained by police in Osaka, however refused to make any further comment.
The ABC reports that Lake is assisting Japanese police with their inquiries as they work to gather information about the incident. Under Japanese law, authorities have the right to detain a person for 23 days without any charge.
Lake was recently been in Fiji to film Ten's Survivor Champions vs Contenders.
Lake played 250 games with the Hawks and the Bulldogs and was part of three premiership teams between 2013 and 2015.
