A wild on-field brawl during Manly's 22-4 win over the Melbourne Storm has sparked a sin-binning controversy -- and left one player with a fractured eye socket.

Storm Centre Curtis Scott has copped a grade three striking charge for punching Dylan Walker during the second half of the NRL clash at AAMI Park on Saturday night. If he fights the decision he faces a three-to-four-week ban, otherwise a two-match ban is likely.

The NRL Match Review Committee took into account Scott's early guilty plea, while making the decision on Sunday afternoon.

Sea Eagles Korisau and Walker were also binned on Saturday night for their involvement in the brawl.

Api Korisau was handed a grade one charge for his punch, and is expected to  miss one match.

But the controversy hasn't stopped there.

Melbourne Storm officials believe the two Manly players were brought back onto the field early.

Just as the pair was brought back onto the field, the Storm's head of Football, Frank Ponissi, declared a timekeeping error.  Ponissi claims they were let back on before their 10-minute penalties were up.

The wild brawl erupted during an argument between Scott and the Manly Centre. It's unclear what was said, but both players had apparently been baiting each other in the lead-up.

Melbourne coach Craig Bellamy says Scott should have kept a level head:

"Curtis needs to learn from it."

On Sunday, Manly confirmed Walker will be out for up to six weeks due to the eye socket injury.

Melbourne Storm today released an apology via Twitter, on behalf of Scott:

Dylan Walker also posted his thoughts on social media. The Manly star sharing a snap of his bruised eye, with the caption "Talk **** Get Hit."

Walker was not charged for his part in the melee.
