WATCH: Do Aussies Have Any Idea Who Their Deputy PM Is?
Michael McCormack has held onto his position as National Party leader and deputy Prime Minister. But does the Australian public know who he is?
McCormack survived a challenge from his predecessor Barnaby Joyce on Tuesday, the first parliamentary sitting day of 2020, winning a party room ballot over Joyce.
Joyce mounted his bid following the resignation of the party's former deputy leader, Bridget McKenzie, on Sunday. The drought minister, David Littleproud, was appointed as her replacement.
McCormack has led the Nationals since Joyce quit in 2018 over his scandal involving an affair with a former staffer.
With his grip on the leadership all but secured for now, 10 daily hit the Sydney streets to find out whether the Australian public knows who their deputy PM actually is -- and the results aren't looking good.
