'Egg Girl' Charged With Common Assault On Prime Minister

A 24-year-old woman has been charged after allegedly egging Prime Minister Scott Morrison on Tuesday.

The PM was at a Country Women's Association event in Albury, NSW, when the woman allegedly threw the egg as she walked behind him.

The egg missed Morrison's head, and according to the ABC, did not crack.

She was immediately tackled by security, resulting in a 70-year-old woman being knocked to the ground.

The woman was removed from the event and taken to the Albury Police Station. Police say they found cannabis during a search.

She has since been charged with common assault and possessing prohibited drug.

She has been granted strict conditional bail and will face Albury Local Court on May 27.
