Scott Morrison's Personal Website Hijacked By Troll
Scotty really doesn't know about renewing a domain name.
It seems even when you are Prime Minister of Australia it's easy to forget little things -- like renewing your website domain name and the like.
It appears the domain name for Scott Morrison's personal website -- www.scottmorrison.com.au -- was not renewed when it expired. A WhoIs domain search shows it was bought on Thursday by a bloke named Jack Genesin.
"So, the PM forgot to renew his website and it expired today," a Facebook user with the same posted online on Thursday.
"Most fun I've had with $50 in a long time."
It appears the eagle-eyed domain poacher swooped on the URL when it expired, and installed some content of his own.

The website has been stripped of all Prime Ministerial content and now simply contains an image of the PM with the punk song 'Scotty Doesn't Know' by Lustra -- made famous in the movie 'Eurotrip' -- playing over the top.
Previously, the site contained information about Morrison and his electorate. It is still linked to his official parliament profile as well, under 'personal website'.
You can visit (and listen to the track) at www.scottmorrison.com.au.
A quick search on website Wayback Machine shows proves that just five days ago, Scott Morrison's personal website was fully functioning and professional-looking.
ten daily was told by The Prime Minister's Office that Morrison's new personal website can be found at scottmorrisonmp.com.au. It looks as though all the assets and content from the previous site have simply been migrated to a completely new domain name.
But it could have been for nothing.
Genesin apparently contacted the PM on Friday morning, offering to return the domain to him.
“Hi Scott, hope you’re having a great day," Genesin wrote.
"I bought your domain name when it expired. I don’t want anything bad to come from it. Could you please get in contact to arrange a transfer of the domain back to you.”
ten daily has contacted Genesin for more information on the website.
