Majak Daw Welcomes First Child With Partner Emily McKay
AFL player Majak Daw has welcomed his first child with partner Emily McKay.
Daw revealed the news by posting a series of photos on Instagram about the birth of their son, named Hendrix Kuat William Daw.
"... our little man was born this morning around 1am. Emily and I are so thrilled and proud to be his parents," the Kangeroos defender said in the post.
Daw and McKay announced they were expecting a child just months after Daw fell from Melbourne's Bolte Bridge in December 2018. He suffered serious hip and pelvic fractures as a result of the fall which stopped him from playing AFL.
Just one month after the fall, Daw released a public statement addressing the incident.
“The circumstances surrounding my incident have been extremely challenging for my family, friends and anyone that knows me for that matter," Daw said in the statement.
"I have been blessed with a second chance at life ... I hope to be back out there playing in the blue and white stripes soon."
In July, Daw returned to the AFL oval for his first game since the fall and was welcomed by fans with custom made signs that read 'Welcome Back Majak' and 'Go Majak'.
Daw was cheered as he ran onto the field with a big smile on his face. The defender seemed happy to be back.
