'The Whole World Just Lit Up': Man Sees Colours Clearly For First Time

Colour blind Deputy Jeff Dishmon was gifted "a different world" by his colleagues. His first order of business? Watching the sunset with his wife.

Dishmon was presented with a pair of Enchroma glasses and a bunch of colourful balloons by his colleagues at the Humbolt County Sheriff's Office.

Before he had the glasses on, Dishmon started crying with joy as the glasses are widely regarded to help most colour blind people see colour differently.

And now it was his turn.

"Oh my god," the man said as he looked through the glasses.

"What do you see?" a colleague asked.

"A different world," the man said through his tears as he absorbed the new world around him.

"Can you see the green... Can you see the balloons, can you see the purple? " the colleague continued.

"You're unbelievable. Thank you so much," Dishmon said.

Through his tears and his joy he declared the first thing he wanted to do with his new glasses.

"My wife is going to watch the sunset with me," he said, later telling his bride: "I can't wait to see you."
