It's Now OK To Twerk On A Scrabble Board
Scrabble has just added hundreds of words to its dictionary and life is a triple word score.
There have been 300 new words added to the sixth edition of the official Scrabble dictionary.
Prepare yourselves because you can now get rid of that lingering 'k' that you can never use as OK has been added to the dictionary.
"OK is something Scrabble players have been waiting for, for a long time," said Merriam-Webster Editor Peter Sokolowski .
"Basically two- and three-letter words are the lifeblood of the game."
Other words included cater to a younger generation with a lexicon of its own.
'Twerk', 'ew' and 'facepalm' make their debut in the new dictionary.
The Springfield, Massachusetts-based dictionary company sought counsel from the North American Scrabble Players Association when updating the book, Sokolowski said, "to make sure that they agree these words are desirable".
Sokolowski has a favorite among the new words but not, primarily, because of Scrabble scores. "It's macaron," he said, referring to the delicate French sandwich cookie featuring different flavors and fillings.
"I just like what it means," he said.
With the new addition the official dictionary players now have more than 100,000 words to play with.
But sadly you are still not allowed to abbreviate words. Soz.
