Two Found Dead, Child Critically Injured Inside NZ Home

Two people have been found dead and a child critically injured after a "serious incident" inside a home in Auckland, New Zealand.

Local police said they were called to the home in the suburb of Papatoetoe just before 10am on Monday.

Inside the home, police said they found the body of a woman in one of the bedrooms.

In the same room, police also found a child suffering from critical injuries.

The nature of the boy's injuries is not yet clear, but he was rushed to a nearby hospital in Auckland where he remains in a critical condition.

Shortly after, while conducting a search of the property, officers found a man's body inside the garage.

Investigations have been launched into the circumstances surrounding the incident, however, it's believed the man and woman knew each other.

NZ Police Detective Inspector Colin Higson said they are not looking for anyone else in relation to the incident.

It is not clear what the child's relationship is with the man or the woman.

"Police are working to confirm the identities of the deceased and begin next of kin notifications," Higson said.
