Eurydice Dixon's Father's Incredible Words Of Kindness For Daughter's Killer
The father of Melbourne comedian Eurydice Dixon has broken his silence just moments after his daughter's killer was sentenced to life in prison for her murder.
Incredibly, Jeremy Dixon started his media address expressing sympathy for Jaymes Todd's family.
"I extend my sympathy, my sincere sympathy for those who love him," Jeremy said.
He also told media he would like to see his daughter remembered for her kindness of spirit, not for the way she died.
"Eurydice Dixon should be remembered as her friends will remember her for her wit and courage and for her kindnesses, not for her death," he said.
In his brief statement, Jeremy Dixon did not comment on the length of Todd's sentence.
Eurydice's killer Jaymes Todd was sentenced to life behind bars with a non-parole period of 35 years for her rape and murder on Monday.
Her body was found in Princes Park in Melbourne's inner-north on June 13 2018. Todd was arrested in relation to the crime on the same day after CCTV footage showed him stalking Eurydice.
He pleaded guilty to her rape and murder in November 2018.
During the hearings, the Supreme Court in Victoria heard Todd stalked Dixon for 4.5 kilometres before he set upon her in the park. After her murder, Todd returned to the park to find a police perimeter set up.
