Teacher In Court For Alleged Sexual Acts With Student
The teacher is alleged to have been engaged in sexual acts with the underage teenager student for months.
Teacher Ben Fenner has faced Downing Centre Court in Sydney today after being accused of having sex with a female student. The 34-year-old was stood down from his position as a biology teacher at school, Reddam House, after allegations surfaced.
He didn't enter a plea and was excused from attending next time, with the case back before the court in October. Outside Fenner didn't say anything when asked if he'd be defending the charges.
Fenner was arrested on July 19 after detectives from the Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad were alerted.
He was a biology teacher and Duke of Edinburgh co-ordinator at the school.
Police allege the teacher engaged in sexual acts with the teenager, then aged 17, at homes in Randwick and the Central Coast between April and October 2018.
The teacher was charged with 11 counts of sexual intercourse with a person under care (between 17 years and under 18 years old).

The school sent out a statement in their newsletter in the wake of the arrest and said school psychologists were available to students 'for whom the events of the week have been unsettling'.
