Tub Of Yoghurt Thrown At Leigh Sales During Speech

ABC journalist Leigh Sales was allegedly attacked with a tub of yoghurt while she delivered a speech on Sunday.

Sales was addressing a crowd at the Disrupted Festival of Ideas at the State Library of Western Australia when the tub was thrown at her.

Shocked, Sales lept back from the podium as the yoghurt splattered her legs, the stage and the curtains behind her.

Security was quick to pounce on the 49-year-old alleged perpetrator who was later charged with common assault.

Sales was quick to thank security for dealing with the man professionally and assured the crowd she was totally fine before joking, "that's a waste of perfectly good yoghurt, I'm afraid."

Following her appearance at the festival, Sales tweeted that she was fine after the dairy-driven encounter.

The motives behind the yoghurt throwing are still unknown.
