Man Stabbed While Helping Elderly Man On Mobility Scooter

Police have charged a teenage boy after he allegedly stabbed a man in south of Brisbane Tuesday afternoon.

An elderly man was travelling on a mobility scooter behind a 7/11 petrol station in Heritage Park just after 3pm when it is alleged he was accosted by a group of teenagers.

A 26-year-old man passing by attempted to come to the aid of the elderly man which lead to a fight breaking out between him and the teens.

Police say during this altercation one of the teenagers produced a knife and stabbed the good samaritan.

The man was able to restrain his attacker and take him into the petrol station where he contacted police.

The 26-year-old man was taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

A 15-year-old boy was charged with acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm and due to appear in Beenleigh Children's Court on Wednesday.
