Woman Charged With Murder After Zetland Apartment Death

Zixi Wang, also known as Jessie, has been charged with murder after the death of a woman in Sydney's east on Monday.

Police arrested Wang, 29, at Sea Cliff Bridge, north of Wollongong on Tuesday afternoon in relation to the death of a 23-year-old woman in Zetland.

They are describing it as a "domestic-related incident".

Wang was silent in Wollongong Local Court on Wednesday, speaking only to say her name.

Her lawyer said she was in "a very bad condition -- both physically and mentally" when he saw her.

"She's terrified and distressed. She hasn't slept in three days," defense Kevin Zhu said.

Emergency services were called to Rose Valley Way apartment building at 8.45pm on Monday after the 23-year-old woman was discovered with injuries.

She could not be revived and died at the scene.

Police appealed to the public for help in finding Wang, locating her after a tip-off from the public on Tuesday afternoon.

Her white Mercedes has been seized for forensic examination.

No application for bail was made, and Wang was formally refused on Wednesday.
