Teen Charged With Indecently Assaulting Elderly Woman

A 14-year-old boy has been charged with the indecent assault of an elderly woman, 82, in northeast NSW.

It is alleged the teenager and another boy broke into the woman's house on Petra Avenue, Tamworth, at about 5.10am on Wednesday.

Police have alleged they stole money and a tablet device from the woman.

The boy is also accused of indecently assaulting the woman with the other male, before fleeing when the woman sounded an alarm.

Officers from Oxley Police District attended the address and a crime scene was established.

The teenage boy was arrested at about 4.45pm on Wednesday at a house on Robert Street, Tamworth.

He was charged with aggravated break, enter and steal, aggravated break and enter, aggravated indecent assault and breach of bail.

He was refused bail and will appear at a children's court on Thursday.

Investigations to locate the second male are still continuing.
