Person Arrested After 'Suspicious Death' Of Woman Outside Sydney Apartment
Police have arrested a woman in relation to the death of her former partner outside a Sydney apartment block.
Zixi Wang, also known as Jessie, was arrested at Sea Cliff Bridge, north of Wollongong at about 3.30pm on Tuesday, police confirmed to 10 daily.
The arrest came after a member of the public reportedly following her along Sea Cliff Bridge and notified police.
"I was following her along the Sea Cliff Bridge, and monitoring her as I kept in contact with the police until they came," the person, named James, told The Ben Fordham Show on 2GB.
Police located a white Mercedes Benz in the area, believed to be the car Wang, 29, was travelling in. She was arrested nearby.
Wang's former partner Shu Yu Zhou had died under "suspicious" circumstances the day before outside units in Zetland, in Sydney's east.
Emergency services had been called to the Rose Valley Way units at about 8.45pm on Monday evening, where they found Zhou suffering serious injuries.
The 23 year-old woman had fallen five stories from Wang’s unit, hitting a fence on her way down and could not be revived.
Initial investigations suggest that Zhou had popped in to collect her things from her former partner when a dispute allegedly occurred.
Wang was escorted to Wollongong Police Station late Tuesday afternoon where she is facing two charges; one of murder and another for stealing a car.
"She will be able to establish what possibly could have happened at the scene, however we are also concerned about her welfare," Superintendent Brad Hodder told reporters.
Wang is assisting police with inquiries. The car has been secured for forensic examination.
