Police Intensify Hunt For Melbourne's 'Pencil Stabber'

Police have ramped up their search for a man who allegedly attacked an innocent bystander with pencils last month.

The male victim was standing in McGrath Lane in Melbourne's CBD at about 2.30pm on May 17 when an unknown man approached him, dragged him to the ground and stabbed him with two pencils.

A number of witnesses saw the attack and tried to push the man off his victim. The man, however, continued his alleged attack before walking away toward Collins Street.
