Salim Mehajer Back In Custody Less Than Two Weeks After Being Released From Jail

Disgraced former deputy mayor of Auburn City Council Salim Mehajer has been arrested for breach of bail less than two weeks after being released from jail.

He was arrested at his Lidcombe home, in Sydney's western suburbs, about 2.30pm on Monday.

It is alleged that the 32-year-old businessman contacted witnesses in ongoing cases using his mobile phone.

He was remanded in custody at Burwood Police Station and will front Burwood Local Court on Tuesday.

Mehajer was released from Cooma Correctional Centre at the end of last month after serving 11 months behind bars for electoral fraud.
