Bail Denied For Man Accused Of Luring Girl, 7, Into Abandoned Home

Christopher Irwin, 34, has appeared in court after allegedly abducting a young girl in southwest Sydney and taking her to an abandoned house on Friday.

Appearing at Parramatta Bail Court on Saturday, Irwin was refused bail after a court heard he allegedly told the young girl "come with me I want to show you something cool."

Irwin then allegedly took the girl, 7, by the hand and led her into a nearby abandoned house.

The young girl had been playing out the front of a home in Macquarie Fields at around 4pm when the alleged incident occurred, police said on Friday.

A witness who allegedly saw a man talking to the girl and leading her away, immediately contacted the girl's relatives who rushed to the abandoned property.

Police allege the man had begun taking off the girl's clothes before he was discovered.

The man was detained until police arrived and arrested him.

He was charged with taking a child with intent to remove parental control and remaining in a building with intent to commit an indictable offence.
