Unregistered Nurse Avoids Jail After Killing Her Boss In Botched Boob Job
Yueqiong Fu has avoided jail after she admitted to administering anaesthetic that killed her boss.
On Friday she faced Downing Centre Distrcit Court for her role in the botched breast enlargement surgery of her boss Jean Huang. Huang died two days after undergoing the breast filler operation at an inner-Sydney clinic on August 30, 2017.
Earlier this month, the Chinese national admitted recklessly administering anaesthetic on but claimed she was "just doing what the doctor told her".
During the hearing, Fu said she prepared several syringes filled with local anaethstic at the request of the doctor allegedly in charge of the surgery. She also admitted she later lied in writing to police.
Fu was handed a two-year good behaviour bond and ordered to complete 150 hours of community service.
Fu had completed her nursing degree in Sydney, however, was yet to pass the English-language test which was essential to complete her registration.
She was not a registered nurse at the time of Huang's death.
She also told the court that she hadn't prepared anaesthetic before the botched breast operation.
Instead, she said, she was using "Chinese thinking" following what the doctor had allegedly told her.
But, she seems to have changed her mind about that, telling the court, “before I do anything, I should know what things I do and what things I can’t do."
Fu served 50 days in jail before being granted bail in October 2017.
