However, a lengthy effort of stopping the sewerage flow and pumping the refuse out was required before the teams could retrieve the man.

The man is believed to be 45-year-old Jason Guise, who went missing in Wynnum last month.

Guise was last week on Charlotte Street in Wynnum on April 21 when he visited a food truck and detectives are currently trying to piece together his movements after this day.

CCTV footage capture Guise entering a shopping centre on April 16.

Police are now appealing for people who may have captured dash cam footage on Granada or Charlotte Street on April 21 to get in contact.

He is described as around 175 centimetres tall with brown hair, brown eyes and a medium build.

More to come.
