Man Arrested With An Axe At Adelaide Dawn Service
A man, 41, has been arrested at the ANZAC Day Dawn Service in Adelaide on Thursday.
Police at the Dawn Service at Henley Beach saw the man walking along Seaview Road at about 7am.
A wooden handle was spotted protruding from his backpack, arousing the suspicions of police.
A search of the bag found an axe and a knife inside, South Australia Police said.
The man was arrested and charged with two counts of carrying an offensive weapon.
He was granted bail and will face Port Adelaide Magistrates Court on June 26.
Police said at no time did he threaten anyone or produce the weapons he had in his possession.
