Husband Charged After Woman's Body Found In Garage
A 49-year-old man has now formally been charged with murder after the body of his wife was found in the garage of a Sydney home in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Emergency services were called to the house in Minto in Sydney's south-west at about 4am after reports of a body in the garage.
A man, believed to be the woman's husband, was arrested at the scene before being taken to Fairfield Hospital suffering a hand injury.
He was later released from hospital and has now been formally charged with murder and refused bail.
On Sunday evening police said the body of the woman has not yet been formally identified, but it is believed to be that of the 33-year-old mother.
Two children, aged six and 10, were asleep and unharmed at the property when her body was found.
Neighbours have told 10 News First about the seemingly 'happy' family.
"When I heard the news, I was screaming and getting from the car and calling my husband. I was telling him, I was showing him something happened there but I couldn't say anything" one neighbour told 10 News First.
"She was so lovely, she was so lovely. Always smiling, I never seen her sad."
She said the woman was a 'good and lovely' mother who cared for her children and worked to provide for the family.
The 49-year-old man will face Parramatta Bail Court on Monday.
