Man Charged For Alleged Online Exploitation Of 9-Year-Old
A man, 40, from Sydney's Northern Beaches has been arrested for allegedly exploiting a young girl online.
NSW Police began engaging with the man online in February 2019, with him believing he was speaking to a 40-year-old man who was the male relative of a nine-year-old girl.
It is alleged the man had conversations with the 'relative' about "sexually explicit acts" he wished to perform on the child, as well as for the relative to also perform on the girl.
Police will also allege the man sent sexually explicit material numerous times during the conversations.
Strike Force Trawler detectives, who were behind the conversations, arrested the man outside a business in Collaroy Plateau on Thursday morning.
He has been charged with accessory before the fact to attempted sexual intercourse with a child under the age of 10 years, and seven counts of using a carriage service to transmit/publish/promote child porn.
He was denied bail and will appear at Parramatta Bail Court on Friday.
A search warrant was also executed on Scotland Island, with several electronic devices seized for forensic investigation.
